junior review. the presentation.

I survived, thus live on to fight another day.

PDF of my Keynote presentation.

some notes.
My connecting narrative for my review was me. The polling of professors+fans really opened my eyes more to my designs. A common incorporation that I saw was the use of psychology in my work. My brother and I were actually talking more about this the other day. The idea that one of my main ways to judge the impact and success of any given design is via the audience and their ability grasp what is being represented. The difficult aspect becomes however, the idea of how vast an audience really can be; the range in gender, age, location, experience, backgrounds, incomes, etc. Another thing that I often hold onto are memories; they're inspiring moments. Even the worst moment/event of your life can end up becoming a big inspiration; a need to improve, or fight back. The most emotional moments create the best results. Even though I see this large impact of emotions and events on people, those specific styles were not seen in my work, until the typeface specimen project. It's as if all of the emotions of my everyday life + memories that I was attempting to keep back was actually impeding emotional connection/styles in my design work.
