First off, I didn’t think interviews were always the same or
had the potential to be rehearsed so this whole read was very interesting to
me. One of the reoccurring things to do was to ask questions multiple times to
prompt the interviewer for what they were really looking for and then restating
your information in the format of what they need. It seems that almost every
response is based on reformatting the information that you know about the
employer into describing yourself. You should also never say anything negative
about yourself including weaknesses. There is no perfect interview; there will
always be “traps” that you can’t avoid. But be humble but firm, talk about your
positive marks, talk positively about your not so great parts and just prepare
for these questions ahead of time.

portfolio website + url.
I'm still thinking that the landing page needs work, but the first five pages + my about page is pretty set as of this point. I went through different portfolio template websites trying to find what I really wanted. I still don't know what I'm doing with my extra writings and may add more, but I've placed the pieces that I had initially chosen up.
What I really struggled with was how exactly I want to portray my work + myself. I am currently going with a simplistic white background with an image that I took in Chicago, the first time I went home after having moved out to Kansas City for school. I went to see an exhibit at the Art Museum of Chicago with my brother + it was one of those great bonding moments. It also is of train lines, which reference history as well as the ability to travel the world and will always remind me of Chicago.

portfolio building + theme options take 2.
I was bouncing around with some different portfolio hosting initially, but now I have settled on using Virb. I was trying out the different themes, changing colors, working with background imagery and my work. I feel pretty good about my decision so far. Below are the main themes that I was working with. I tried them all out, but the ones below seemed to fit the best with the aesthetics that I had in mind.
