How-To Bury a Body: Steps

1. Check Federal laws in your state – to make sure burial in your yard is allowed and if the body needs to be embalmed.
2. Choose a location for the body that is away from your door in case the body or odors arise(s).
3. Check what depth the body must be placed at in your county.
4. Wrap the body in a heavy plastic bag or container.
5. Dig the hole 1-foot wider and 1-foot longer than the dimensions of the body’s container and at least as deep as the minimum depth for your county.
6. Drop the body in and cover with dirt.
