Blog Design Prework

So it appears that I deleted the screen shots of my previous attempts but I still had some of my pre-process work.

These were some quick sketches I put together for the layout of how I wanted it to look.

The big thing that I focused on was whether or not my body copy would be easy to read.  I had figured that it was the biggest thing that visitors would be coming to see, other than my artwork.  I like the more simple feel of these typefaces so I wanted to see what they would look like in a paragraph form.  I know the typeface that I ended up keeping as my main typeface is not here, but I wanted to be more in the now than not so I went with the Droid typeface.

Color wise, I really wanted to use a red, white, and black theme because it is a favorite combination of mine.  I ended up using this for my last blog option, and I think was successful with it.  I like bright colors, so I was trying to use a bright color as some emphasis to the blog, which is where I ended up with turquoise as the main color for one of the blog options.  I struggled with finding the best color scheme, because I knew what my friends would be assuming I would color my blog, and a bit of me wanted to push away from that norm of mine, but I ended up with it anyway.
