Prior to Critique: Below are my first digital sketches of my poster for April Greiman. My focus was on the angles of the building and the text lock up. I still think about making some more changes to color and text weights for the next iterations.
Post Professor Marty + Five Juniors(Sam M, Patrick, McKenzie, Abby + Ivan) Critique Notes:
- "Go Bananas," says Marty.
- Marty can pull me back but not push me far out
- Have image inspire text, not a simple combination
- Think interactive layers
- Work on legibility
- Treat text as image
- April is picky about type alignment with image
- Potential color scheme is California landscape colors
- "Make them friends and play with them," says Sam M.
- Mix typefaces(don't stay one note)
- Cut out the building
- Layer text and image
- Make text much smaller
- Work with pixels
- Do more with the images than just overlap
- bitmap, halfton, pixelate, cut out
- Add color to text
- Find a moment of tension focus
