manheim park. the basics.

For Visual Advocacy we will be working on redesigning the logo for Historic Manheim Park Association, as well as pinpointing areas or parts that could help create a more positive atmosphere in the area. The class met with Seft Hunter, Vice President of the Neighborhood Association + William Bates, Historian and Housing Chair to discuss in more detail what they were hoping we could do, as well as give us more information to work with.

Most important notes from the meeting:
*Bancroft School is largest visual focus in the community
*100 or so vacant + abandoned homes are largest issue
*Houses are all different architectural styles, so one unified image/logo for community could help bring everyone and everything together

What is wanted:
*Visual identity for this town that is welcoming + descriptive of the area, as well as show where they are going
*Brand standards, promotional materials(business cards, letterhead, t-shirts), signage, and any other possible features to positively promote the area (i.e. signs in vacant lots, digital boards, etc)

Below are images from the initial walk around the Bancroft School that is currently being renovated and turned into apartments.

this is a pretty awesome video that goes over the architecture work + residents main wants out of this neighborhood.
