The Kansas City Fringe fulfills the need to explore edgy art. The need try new art genres that our audience has never experienced before. We fulfill the need to see live production at an affordable cost. We provide a place for local artists to explore their art as well.
Why does it matter?
It matters because people want to explore arts and we makes art accessible. Many cultures believe art is necessary for life and part of the human experience. When Churchill was approached about cutting funding for arts to support war he said, then what are we fighting for?
What do you do differently from all your competitors?
We do not have competitors. We provide many genres of art in a short time frame. The Fringe is affordable for artists and audience. We can bring larger audiences to artists by combing publicity for many. No one else does that.
Can you prove this?
We research other venues available to artists plus costs of tech, ticketing, and promotion. There is no other arts organization in our city that provides that.
What adjectives would your best client use to describe you?
Our clients are our artists who would say we are affordable, inclusive, easy to work with, and encouraging.
How would a stranger off the street describe your work environment?
Our work environment is chaotic, crazy, freakishly organized, friendly, creative, resourceful, and flexible.
What “Me Too’s” must you avoid? / What services do you offer that other organizations do too?
Art, theater, dance, fashion, are all available through other outlets but we offer things in each of these fields you won’t see anywhere else.
